"One in a Million: What Makes a Manuscript or Art Sample Stand Out from the Crowd"
(for mentees and other conference guests)

Four seasoned editors and agents will speak about what makes them stop, read, request, and ultimately represent or buy a manuscript, or want to see more samples from an illustrator. They’ll speak about how to keep your work fresh and memorable—even after you’ve sold your first book—and common mistakes to avoid when first breaking into the business. This panel will be beneficial for writers and illustrators at any stage of their careers.

Christian Trimmer, Editorial Director, Macmillan/Henry Holt
Rebecca Aronson, Assistant Editor, HarperCollins/Katherine Tegen Books
